Social Awareness Poster: The Spotted Lantern Fly

Description
My name is Elisa Gislao. I’m a graphic design major because I am very passionate about the importance of graphic design and I love the creative freedom it allows me. I have been learning the basics of graphic design since High-school and am attending college here at RVCC to further my knowledge. The intentions I had with this project was to raise awareness of the spotted lantern fly problem we have had around the NJ area. I would love to create posters as part of a future career in graphic design so this project was relevant and a provided me with a great learning experience for one aspect of the graphic design industry.
The main objective of this project was to create a poster that serves to raise awareness for the social, economic, political, ethical, environmental or cultural topic of our choice. Major emphasis needed to be placed on originality of both concept and execution of final composition; creativity and experimentation of image-making; and artistic integrity of content (I.E. any images used had to either be our own or those heavily manipulated via digital or traditional means.) Ultimately, the “voice” of the poster had to be our own.
