Description

I have been around art since I was little, and it has always been my passion to create. My hobby has always been drawing, and I usually use traditional media such as pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, and ink. My goal in life is for my art to inspire people. Whether it be sparking their interest in art, inspiring them to create, or even just to give them something to help them throughout their day. I want to be able to do that through both digital and fine arts. This project helped me learn how to use my traditional skill set and apply it to digital media. It was challenging to design a book cover for a book that is so well known, but this project helped me think outside the box and design something new.
To redesign the jacket for an existing book, being mindful to make it completely different from the original (published) design. All imagery had to be made by the student from scratch–no appropriated imagery was allowed except for the image of the author for the flap. The finished design was printed and wrapped around an existing book.
