Description

I’m Ana Mitchell, 24 years old, and currently studying Graphic Design at RVCC. I was born and raised in Brazil but moved to the United States when I was 20 to pursue my dreams and find better career opportunities. It took me a while and many challenges to be where I am, for this reason, I value every single thing I’ve conquered so far. I enjoy learning about Design, home decorating, organizing things, and seeing creative work - in museums, blogs, or Pinterest. I plan to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and work as a User Experience Designer. I love the fact that good design and technology can change lives, so I want to be part of that as a positive influence. This branding project was extremely fun, and an awesome opportunity to exercise creative problem-solving. I believe it will be a great piece on my Portfolio to help me to transfer to a 4-year school and get an Internship.
For this project, we were tasked with conceiving of a multi-day event/festival that did not yet exist. Once the concept was cleared by the professor, we embarked on a long journey of designing an entire branding campaign for the festival, which included: festival logo, t-shirt, an informational poster, street pole banner, double-sided postcard – the back of which functioned as the festival ticket, a poster mailing tube for shipping, a “swag” package, and any other elements we deemed necessary. All elements were created digitally and actually produced – even the package and t-shirt - and professionally mounted/presented for final critique.
