Title
How Gender Roles Affect Acceptance
Creator
Lauren Nolan
Description
My name is Lauren Nolan. I am nineteen years old and grew up in Montgomery, New Jersey. I like photography, reading, and was a camp counselor for first and second graders over the past few summers. I am currently an English major at RVCC and hope to pursue a career where I can get to write. I've always loved writing, especially about topics that mean a lot to me, and in this essay, I was able to explore issues of feminism and gender roles.
This essay discusses the gender roles women must adhere to in order to be accepted within society by comparing Emily Dickinson's poems "I'm Nobody! Who Are You?" and "Much Madness is Divinest Sense," to modern-day female politicians.
