Kamiya Simmons

My name is Kamiya Simmons, and I am currently a sophomore at Raritan Valley Community College. My major is Early Childhood Education, and I have had nothing but good experiences with it at RVCC. Once I graduate from RVCC, I plan to transfer to Kean University, to continue my education. I love being around children and I currently work at a daycare full time. They never fail to amaze me every day. I am really good at creating bonds with every single one of them. In the future, I would like to become a director of a daycare or become a teacher for children ages 0-8. My hobbies would include dancing, being outdoors, and exercising. I currently am interested in learning American Sign Language. My goal with this project is to speak out on racism and segregation within children. I want children to all grow up playing with one another without seeing race. I would like to thank my English professor Jamie Parmese from my 2020 fall semester, as she gave me the inspiration and essay assignment to write!
