Description
I am a first-year college student and I my major is in Pre-Med ical Science. I hope to one day become a doctor in emergency medicine or surgery. I come from a large artistic family, so I learned to draw and play instruments growing up. I now use these hobbies to help me understand and visualize science and specifically biology. So, the goal of this drawing was to show all the different ways gene expression can influence the way we look. When thinking about this, I realized how there are so many different ways genes are expressed just in the face, such as eye color and shape, hair color, skin tone, nose shape, and so much more. The goal of this project was to represent all that and to get people to think about all the different ways genes express themselves through ourfeatures and how unique this makes all of us.
This is a drawing of a woman’s face with a pattern of DNA overlayed meant to show how gene expression influences the way we look.
