Description

Most of my time is spent as a student and a nanny for a one year old. In my spare time I like to read (historical fiction novels are my favorite) and be creative through sewing, writing or doing DIY projects. I have moved 11 times but have spent most of my childhood in Virginia and New Jersey. I am still unsure exactly what career I would like to pursue but I am strongly interested in writing and psychology so I am hoping that studying communications will allow me to find something I can enjoy and be successful at. I am also aiming to transfer to a college in the city and I have my sight set on either Duquesne University or Virginia Commonwealth University. With this article, I hoped to raise awareness on the stigma that surrounds substance use disorder as it is something I am passionate about since close family members of mine have dealt with it. This project helped me realize the benefits of combining your talents and passions to create something, in my case, writing and the stigma surrounding substance use disorder.
