Description

I am 21, and I am a music major. I love to play video games, listen to music, and watch cartoons. I one day hope to be a music teacher because I wish to inspire my future students to be passionate about music the same way my teachers inspired me, and made me feel like I belong. My goal for this project was to shed light on the way that schools approach the mental health of their students. When I was in high school, I was let down on many occasions by my counselors. If I hadn't had such amazing teachers who always encouraged me to do my best, I don't think I would be here today. The title of “guidance counselor” should mean that students should receive guidance and counseling, but instead many of my peers and I were neglected.
In this essay, I used sources I found to support the claim that schools are not doing enough when it comes to students and the mental health crisis they are currently facing.
