Denise Becerra

I am a Mexican - American college student who is originally from San Diego, California and moved out to New Jersey slightly over a year ago. Some of my hobbies included going on hikes, going to the beach and snorkeling. I hope to transfer to a four institution and receive a bachelor degree in Biology. I want to be able to bridge both my passion for science and being able to work with children in untraditional classroom settings to explore the world around them. For them to see that science is anywhere and everywhere. With this project I wanted to capture female Mexican scientist, I hope to one day be in the STEM field where there is more diversity and inclusion of all and different type of individuals who can bring their personal background and stories into STEM.

My project is a poem that was written originally in Spanish and was also translated in English. My project highlights different Mexican scientists.
