I am a full time college student and a part-time evening manager at my local grocery store. I study during the day and work during the nights. I achieved Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America as well as numerous academic awards for high standings/grades throughout my prior years of schooling. I take my education seriously even though I would numerous hours at work. I felt that this essay assignment allowed for an emotional outlet for me because of my life growing up being challenging and the relationship I have with my parents. I felt that this essay now serves as a purpose to be satisfied with my self and the achievements I have made from myself, by myself. Ive learned to be proud of being me for how I am, not for how they want me to be. Ultimately, this essay assignment has driven me to be further motivated to continue in my academic pathway to becoming a medical professional in my future.

This was the first essay assigned in my English course and I was tasked to make an argument about a topic handled in two of the literary works we read so far in the course. The articles I choice to write about were ones that stood out to me and were easy for me to relate to. I felt the most knowledgable to successfully write a good essay on the topic of pressures/abuse put on children by their parents to hold up to unreasonable standards/terms of living.
