Parker Lawton and David Garcia

Parker Lawton: I'm currently in the midst of my second year at RVCC. I plan to get my associates in business administration and transfer on to a 4-year school to attain at a minimum a bachelor's degree. When I'm not in class, I'm usually at work, Hillsborough's finance office. While I like my job and my classes, I might love making things even more. Whether that comes in the form of videos, drawings, or circuits, it doesn't matter. This project really allowed me to flex my creative muscles and apply what I had learned in my previous classes and beyond. My ultimate goal for my higher education is to give myself to tools make a living, but I hope that I'll be able to use my more creative side in that future too. I'm fortunate to have co-created this project with David, it's not often I've gotten group work that has simultaneously been as productive and fun!

David Garcia: I am a 20-year-old student who grew up in Colombia for the first 9 years of his life. I moved several times before coming to the US. Once I was here in the United States, I had to learn English which eventually became pretty easy for me. I love soccer and reading nonfiction books. One of my short-term goals is to be the second person to ever get a bachelor's degree in my family. My brother was the first one to ever do it so I am motivated to achieve this goal. I love networking and connecting with people. Business Law became my favorite class in the semester of Fall 2023 as I was able to apply what I was learning in the real world.
