In 2020 I graduated with a BA in Marketing however, it became apparent to me that I was doing myself a disservice by not pursuing something more creative. I decided I needed to fix that, which is how I have found myself at Raritan Valley pursuing Graphic Design. I have always been incredibly interested in art and design and I think the choice to further my education was an excellent one. I have a fondness for plants and nature and love to incorporate them into my work, along with vibrant colors and graphic imagery. That being said I think this project is a perfect example of my creative style as well as my design skill. This campaign specifically aligns with my goals as I would really love to be working in brand identity and package design, especially within the brewery industry. Ultimately I would love to have my own design firm with a specialization in these interest.
For this project, I was tasked with conceiving of and then designing a complete branding campaign for a fictitious, yet plausible multi-day festival. I chose a beer festival with the added twist of the event doubling as a way to raise awareness about the troubles within the bee population. There are numerous bee-related activities during the festival and all proceeds from the event go towards research and measures to protect bees. The three day event takes place in Oregon with various vendors, musical acts and of course, the best beer from independent micro breweries from across the United States. I wanted the branding to capture the fun and high-energy of the festival while also being contemporary and visually captivating. For the project, I designed everything: the logo; a t-shirt design (which was actually produced); a double-sided postcard with the back serving as the ticket to the event; a street pole banner; a mailing tube sleeve; a swag box designed to mirror a six-pack carton; and a beer can label. The project was created using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign.
